The Glirma Barn Restoration

Barn Restoration in Marshall, NC

The 1930’s era barn was falling down and Red Shed Woodworks structurally rebuilt it. This required new structural gable walls, tension cables to hold the roof and walls together, siding repair, and a river view deck that was built over a waterproof membrane to keep the lower level barn below dry. All new electrical and septic were added.

A fully conditioned 4 season guest bedroom and bathroom were built on the main level in a standalone insulated shell. All new doors were also added to the barn to match the original barn look. As much material as could be salvaged from the original barn was reused in the new construction.

The lower level barn is used for livestock. The upper level and deck are used for recreation and relaxation.
