McDevitt Residence
Custom Remodeled Home
This very unique project started with a 1930’s farm house. The rear part of the house was demolished and added back on with a new slab and two stories. The remainder of the house was reconfigured with a higher roof and new dormer.
The new slab utilizes in-floor hydronic heat powered by a high efficiency boiler which also supplies the domestic hot water, as well as to multiple hydronic radiators.
The construction process involved a large amount of design ideas from the owner which required a considerable amount of problem solving and design from Red Shed to implement.
The house used many reclaimed materials including newel posts, doors, beadboard, flooring, exterior timbers that were repurposed for porch timbers, and a farm sink for kitchen.
All kitchen cabinets were custom built by Red Shed.
