Dry Ridge Residence
Custom Built Timber Frame Home in Mars Hill, NC
An interesting aspect of the Dry Ridge Residence is that it uses traditional mortise and tenon timber frame for the great room walls and roof. The timber frame was fabricated in the Red Shed Woodworks shop from locally sourced and sawed Eastern White Pine.
The timber frame is wrapped in SIPS (structural insulated panels), and the remaining house is constructed solely with SIPS panels for the walls and roof.
All interior window and door trim is walnut that was cut from the property.
